The Application Process

Applying for a new role can be extremely daunting. Although there will be a number of stages before starting your dream role, we guarantee that we’ll notice an amazing application when we see it. Show us what you could bring.

We want to make sure that we bring in new graduates who suit our culture and enjoy being part of the team. So right from the start of your application, you’ll be treated like an individual and given opportunities to demonstrate your initiative and be yourself.

Key dates for your diary

The application window opens in October and closes in December

When you’re applying for your graduate role, don’t feel as though you have to get your application in on 1st October. Each application will be judged on its merits, not on how early it arrives. Take the time to do it well. Of course, that doesn’t mean leave it until 31st December, either!

If you make the shortlist, we’ll be in touch

We have a range of shortlisting methods, because this helps us to ensure that we’re fair in our assessments and then we identify the right candidates with the appropriate skills. Rest assured, if you make a strong application, we’ll spot it.

Video interviews take place in January

Never done a video interview before? Don’t panic. It’s all in the preparation. Treat it like a face-to-face interview, prepare in exactly the same way and you’ll be fine. We’ve even added a few tips for video interviews below to put you at ease.

We think of the Assessment Centre as your chance to learn about us, as well as our chance to learn about you. So introduce yourself to everyone, ask plenty of questions and make sure we get to know the real you. Above all, enjoy it!

Tips for your Application

  • Your application doesn’t have to be done in one hit. Give yourself time to do it properly.
  • Take the time to think about your answers and, if required, write notes on paper before completing the form.
  • Check for spelling and grammar errors.
  • You should receive a confirmation email – check you do so you know that your application has arrived safely.

Tips for your Video Interview

  • Make sure you know how your technology works. Check in advance that you can adjust the volume and camera settings easily if required.
  • Think about what’s in the background. Choose a room that is quiet and a background that is neutral.
  • How do you look? Make sure the room is well lit and check your appearance is professional and appropriate.
  • Dress to impress. Treat your video the same as a face-to-face interview. Dress for an interview, be smart and sit up straight – shoulders back!
  • Sit where you can speak freely. So, for example, don’t try and interview from a busy coffee shop.

Tips for your Assessment Centre

  • Arrive early, look smart and make sure you bring everything you need.
  • Be confident and introduce yourself to people.
  • Plan in advance. What would you like people to know about you? What would you like to know about us?
  • Try and relax. This is your opportunity to get to know us, and we want to get to know the real you too.
