Our 12-month placements are structured so that you can settle in, feel comfortable and feel as though you can start learning from day one. There’s help, support, lots of encouragement, and clear objectives which help to keep you progressing. Scroll down to see the key milestones on your journey.
It’s a chance to make new friends, socialise, learn together and build a network for the future. We’re also making a video diary ‘a year in the life of an Undergraduate’, so you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in that too.
Nervous? Wondering what to expect? Don’t worry, everyone feels the same way. This is a chance to get to know your colleagues, settle in and ask a few questions. Making your first day at work a little less daunting!
Volkswagen Financial Services is a part of the global Volkswagen Group. Your induction is your chance to learn all about the bigger picture: our history, our brands, our way of working, our collaborative culture and the values that we share.
Yes, we’re a financial services provider. But as an employer, we’re much more than that. We employ people in HR, Marketing, Finance, IT, Business Analysis, Customer Service, Legal, Commercial, Digital and more. Whatever your background, whatever your aspirations, we’ll have something to suit you.
Everything you do here will have a purpose. We don’t keep our Placement students away from the real work, we integrate you into our teams, treat you like permanent employees and value your contribution. We don’t believe in segregating our Placement students, so you’ll be exposed to Board Members, colleagues in their early career, and anyone in between. Working alongside other Placement students, you’ll work on exciting projects and be fully immersed in VWFS. You’ll have the perfect balance between learning and doing.
Throughout your Placement year, we place continuous emphasis on your development. From life-skills sessions to on-the-job learning, from departmental projects to formal presentations, you will always be challenged to keep on learning.
You don’t learn if you’re stuck at a desk from 9 to 5. So we’ll make sure you’ve got plenty of other things to do too, such as visiting local schools as a mentor, attending job shows as a Brand Ambassador, and maybe even appearing at the next new product launch.
